California Community Colleges

California Community Colleges

Are you planning on taking a college class through another CA Community College? Ghidotti's partnership agreement is with Sierra College only.
A student may still take community college courses for free at another college, but there are a few steps required.

Student initiates form for GECHS
This form will be circulated to the Ghidotti counselor, then to the parent, then back to the HS counselor.

  • Students in grades 10-12 must still be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units with Sierra College
  • Students in grade 9 must still be enrolled in at least one college course with Sierra College.
  • GECHS does not provide textbooks or materials for non-Sierra College courses.
  • CalGETC courses are not weighted (GPA bump) on the high school transcript if taken at a community college other than Sierra. Students may choose not to submit the final transcript to the Ghidotti office, but rather send a copy of the transcript to Sierra College. The pros and cons of this should be discussed with the HS counselor.

Our Sierra counselor can assist with any community college questions as well!.

NJUHSD School Counseling

NJUHSD School Counseling

  • School counselors are leaders in the school, district, state, and nation.
  • Comprehensive school counseling programs promote and enhance student academic, career, and social/emotional outcomes.
Equity:
  • School counselors recognize and distinguish individual and group differences and strive to equally value all students and groups.
  • School counselors are advocates for the equitable treatment of all students in school and in the community.
